Safe, Gentle Treatment for Pregnancy
If you are suffering from headaches, low back pain, neck aches, or other musculoskeletal symptoms during pregnancy, gentle, B.E.S.T. chiropractic is an excellent choice. All of the techniques used by Dr. Pinkerton are safe for mommy and baby. If you desire a medication-free pregnancy, these techniques will help you get out of pain and cope better with the stresses of pregnancy without the need for medication.
If you simply want to get out of pain any way you can, Dr. Pinkerton's treatments are safe, and can often break the cycle of tension and pain. B.E.S.T. balancing can easily be done while you lie supine (on your back) or on your side. Treatments are aimed to relax both your muscles and your mind.

In addition to treatment, it often helps to read books and watch some videos about pregnancy and birth. Two excellent books are Spiritual Midwifery and Childbirth Without Fear. For birth partners, The Birth Partner is a great resource.
Spiritual Midwifery is a collection of birth stories written by midwives, mothers, and fathers. As Ina May Gaskin CPM says in the Preface to the Fourth Edition of Spiritual Midwifery, "Women today continue to require the knowledge that birth still works and that every woman has her unique way of bringing her baby into the world. One good way to acquire this precious knowledge is to hear or read the birth stories of quite a few women who have given birth." This book is full of wonderful birth stories, and is both touching and enlightening. It is an excellent read, whether you are planning on giving birth at home, in a hospital, or at a birthing center.
A more scholarly work, Childbirth Without Fear by the obstetrician Grantly Dick-Read, is an excellent discussion of the factors that make pregnancy either a struggle or a pleasure. Both of these books help to restore confidence and reduce fear - which is absolutely required for a happy, healthy pregnancy.
Gentle Birth Choices, What Babies Want, and The Business of Being Born are three informative and engaging videos about birth. All are a great way to spend an evening, pregnant or not!
